Description
A white bowl on a white table contains apples that are colored in Piet Mondrian's style of horizontal and vertical black lines filled in with red, blue, and yellow to create patterns of rectangles and squares.
I had the idea for over a year now...the question was how to accomplish it. I did not want to spray paint real apples because I did not know what it would do to it (plus it is a waste of good food). I purchased a few fake apples, spray painted them white and a thin, black tape for the vertical of the apples. It did not work so well with the horizontal lines popping up and sometimes bringing the vertical ones off the apple. So, I just went with cloning the vertical lines for the horizontal. The colors were also added in post.
The backdrop is a composite photo of brushed, silver metal to create a minimalist background for the Mondrian's apples to pop visually.
