What would happen to future events if the butterfly changed a moment in time - flying to the top flower instead of the the bottom flower? The butterfly effect is defined as a cumulatively large effect that a very small natural force may produce over a period of time. If anyone remembers Sound of Thunder the butterfly plays a significant role.
